چکیده
A numerical analysis of the limit state for solids, with an adequately described structural geometry, is often a computationally demanding task, and there need effective method. The existing solid elements Finite Element Limit Analysis (FELA) are either expensive or require stress cutoff yield surface triaxial states. This paper presents partially mixed lower bound tetrahedral constant element that converges rapidly does not modification surface. based on relaxed formulation theorem by providing strict equilibrium normal tractions faces shear/tangential at vertices. performance shown in four examples applying von Mises criterion, Modified Mohr–Coulomb criterion possible inclusion reinforcement. show fast convergence good even relatively coarse meshes.

Adaptive tetrahedral subdivision for finite element analysis
Realistic behavior of deformable objects is essential for many applications in computer graphics, engineering, or medicine. Typical techniques are either based on mass-springdamper models, boundary element methods, finite difference methods, or finite element methods. These methods either lack accuracy or are computationally very expensive. If accuracy is required FEM computations use adaptive ...
متن کاملA New Stress Based Approach for Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis
This article demonstrates a new approach for nonlinear finite element analysis. The methodology is very suitable and gives very accurate results in linear as well as in nonlinear range of the material behavior. Proposed methodology can be regarded as stress based finite element analysis as it is required to define the stress distribution within the structural body with structural idealization a...
متن کاملNon-linear programming applied to finite element lower bound limit analysis in soil mechanics
The non-linear programming theory along with active set algorithm is employed to solve the objective function of quadratic type problem in soil mechanics under plain strain and two dimensional loading conditions. Combination of lower bound limit analysis and finite element method leads to an appropriate procedure for determining the collapse load of the system. In this combined method, a linear...
متن کاملMixed Finite Element Methods
A new mixed nite element method on totally distorted rectangular meshes is introduced with optimal error estimates for both pressure and velocity. This new mixed discretization ts the geometric shapes of the discontinuity of the rough coeecients and domain boundaries well. This new mixed method also enables us to derive the optimal error estimates and existence and uniqueness of Thomas's mixed ...
متن کاملMixed Finite Element Methods
Finite element methods in which two spaces are used to approximate two different variables receive the general denomination of mixed methods. In some cases, the second variable is introduced in the formulation of the problem because of its physical interest and it is usually related with some derivatives of the original variable. This is the case, for example, in the elasticity equations, where...
